Connectivity marketplaces, from concept to a proven infrastructure

Connectivity marketplaces have moved from an interesting concept to a genuine market infrastructure. That’s a subject that Sonalake will be discussing at DTW Ignite in Copenhagen on 23rd June.

Philip Sharpe, our CEO, joins a panel, Building connectivity marketplaces for the digital infrastructure economy, at 14:45 as part of the Growth Stage track on 5G monetisation, B2B services and ecosystem management. He'll be joined by Nisreen Elkaloush, CCO at AllPoints Fibre Networks, Ben Edmond, CEO of ConnectBase, and Kristian O. P. Freiesleben, Managing Director of OpenNet, with Chris Anderson of Accenture moderating. It's a strong group, and for good reason. These are organisations that have aggregated connectivity into operational marketplaces, each with unique business model approaches.

The broader session, Accelerating ecosystem innovation into scalable growth, sets the frame well. The interesting question for us isn't whether connectivity marketplaces work. It's how operators and platform providers get the back-office infrastructure to keep pace with the commercial ambition. Marketplaces create multi-party, multi-product complexity at speed. BSS platforms either handle that elegantly or they become the bottleneck.

A speaker stands on a large conference stage in front of a dark blue backdrop with "DTW Ignite" and "TM Forum" logos.

It's a question we know well. Earlier this year, AllPoints Fibre Networks won Best Wholesale Platform at the UK Fibre Awards 2026 for their aquila platform, which runs on Sonalake's SwitchedOn Fibre BSS. As their software partner, seeing that work recognised by the industry is genuinely rewarding.

We're also exhibiting at Booth 423 throughout DTW Ignite, 23 to 25 June, at the Bella Center in Copenhagen. If you want to talk through what scalable connectivity marketplace infrastructure looks like in practice, or explore what SwitchedOn Fibre can do for your business, come and find us. Philip will also be on stage at the Growth Stage at 14:45 on Monday 23 June if you want to catch the panel first.
