Sonalake CTO to speak at Predict 2017 conference

We are happy to announce that our CTO, Ciaran Treanor, will be speaking at the upcoming Predict Conference in Dublin on 3rd October 2017.

Predict is Europe’s leading data conference where experts share their thoughts on the current state of data science technologies, artificial intelligence and innovation in predictive data analysis.

Visualisation tools have become indispensable for modern data-driven organisations. Effective visualisation is a key part of making data more accessible and widening its reach. Patterns, trends and correlations that might go undetected in tabular data can be exposed and more readily recognised through visualisation.

Such visualisations often take the form of dashboards designed to enable users to answer predefined questions. Dashboards, by their nature, tend to have a limited set of exploration paths, which is both their strength and weakness. A strength because users crave simplicity and, in many cases are not data scientists. A weakness - because they need to be able to explore and experiment with data in order to derive new insights from it.

In “Choose Your Own Adventure - UX in Interactive Dashboard Design” Ciaran will share some of Sonalake’s experiences building tailored visualisation and dashboarding solutions. He’ll also share some strategies that can be applied to balance freedom of data exploration and presentation within intuitive, functional user experiences.
