DANU presents at GEO Technologies seminar

DANU’s Michael Adams (Technology Director) has contributed to an initiative organised by the Irish Software Association (ISA) to promote and discuss the adoption of software technologies within the Government sector. “GEO Solutions for the Irish Public Sector” was the first installment in the ISA’s Public Procurement Workshop Series. The purpose of the seminar was to provide technology specialists and decision-makers within Government with a comprehensive outline of the Geo-expertise available to them within the indigenous software sector. Michael provided an introduction to map based visualisation, its background and associated technologies (commercial and open source). Michael discussed the current trends in the area and the potential opportunities that now exist for harnessing geo technologies across all aspects of business.

During his presentation Michael also provided real-world examples of how DANU had used Geo based technologies, applied to the Telecom Sector, to deliver Advanced Visualisation based solutions for Telecom Network Monitoring.
